Google Sites Option for ePortfolio Build

Picture
The "New" Google Sites is still under development but is now robust enough to be used as an ePortfolio for this program.  G Sites has the benefit of being integrated with many of the G Suite tools, such as Drive, and is very simple and easy to use.  Embedding documents if very easy, as is providing access to whole folders. Design is very limited at this point, with few theme, font, and navigation options.  Although navigation options are limited, Google Draw documents can be used for creative and highly adaptable navigation (One of Avi's favourite options.).

What you will need to do:
  1. Watch the videos below which show you how to use a G Suite Chrome Extension for videos and interactive tutorials.
  2. Install the Chrome Extension
  3. Recieve credit for your ePortfolio building by following the Quests in your Tracker for ePortfolio Building.
  4. Provide your ePortfolio published site URL to Avi.

Take one of your pages, perhaps the "About Me" page.
Add elements to the page and experiment with layout.
  1. Add a Title Element
  2. Add a Text Element
  3. Add an Image Element
  4. Notice some of the other elements available. Add another element.  Delete the element.  Move elements around... play.
  5. Play with the design of your page (Remember that you will be playing with design and layout throughout the program)  You will not be evaluated on your design at this time, but in your ability to add and manipulate the elements on the page.
  6. Publish and test.

  1. Publish the Site
  2. Submit to your instructor (In your submission, please describe what you wish your instructor to view and provide links to any specific pages.)
Wherever you are handing it in, it is important that you paste the published URL (site address) not the build/edit site URL.
EDPB: In GameLab find the "ePortfolio Step 2" Quest and follow the submission instructions.
B Ed: Hand in the URL according to your instructor's instructions.

Evaluation:
During the build process of the ePortfolio, it is important that you are not held back by waiting for your instructor to approve your work before moving on.  During the build process, your instructor will view your ePortfolio several times... but not for each activity and submission.  This is one of those activities which does not require instructor feedback, so please continue to the next activity once you have completed this one.  At this point, your instructor will be spot-checking, but you will receive credit for this work once you have followed the directions and submitted.  Feedback will be coming to you, but please do not expect feedback for every step of the process.

What your instructor will be looking for when spot-checking your ePortfolio:
  • Have you followed ALL of the instructions and directions from the tutorials AND the "Do It" instructions?
